In today’s video blog, we tackle a fat burning secret weapon (the smoothie) and a couple of quick fixes for shoulder / rotator cuff pain. In particular, the “Bruce Lee Stretch” (a little known stretch I picked up from Paul Chek a few years ago) for the subscapularis (one of the hard to reach rotator cuff muscles that sits und the scapula – hence the name) and passive hanging from the rings (or a bar), popularised by Ido Portal.
- why green protein smoothies are a secret weapon for losing weight, getting lean and improving your body composition and health
- why the subscapularis muscle is a common cause of shoulder pain and how to stretch it to improve shoulder health (“Bruce Lee Stretch”).
- the new direction of my content and rebranding under Physicul® (coming soon)
- Almost hanging from the rings but my phone ran out of space… Please stay tunes as I’ll shoot the “Healthy Hanging” video soon!
Here’s the green smoothie recipe I discuss in the video.
Add the following to the large cup of a Nutribullet (or equivalent blender):
- 2-3 good handfuls of raw, organic kale (washed)
- Half an avocado, a chunk of raw ginger (top of your thumb size)
- A whole cooked beetroot (or half depending on size)
- A couple of handfuls of frozen berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, etc.)
- A handful of walnuts
- 200 ml of unsweetened almond milk
- 2-3 scoops of Revolution Foods Superblend protein powder (or this is a good whey protein if you tolerate dairy, as it is much more absorbable than vegan options. Sorry to break it to you)!
- Top up to the line with water
- Blend until smooth (not too long as you’ll burn out the motor on the Nutribullet)
- Consume and celebrate new found healthiness
Hope you enjoy it.
